" Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold.  Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or swerve from them.  Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have (or whatever else you get), get understanding."  Proverbs 3:13, 4:5,7 NIV version

"Let no foul or polluting language, nor evil word nor unwholesome or worthless talk (ever) come out of your mouth, but only such (speech) as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God's favor) to those who hear it"  Ephesians 4:29

As a Christian, you have an awesome responsibility with regard to the words you speak.  The bible tells us that words are containers for power--either creative or destructive.  You can tear down or build up the people around you by what you say.

There is an abundance of discouragement coming from the world, but you have the great privilege of bringing encouragement to others by being positive in a negative world.

It can be difficult however, so I encourage you to ask God to help you choose words that will bring positive changes in the lives of others...and in your own life too!
